Official Ministry Statement on The Viralled Issues of The Rasau Toll and B$20.00 Charge on Brunei Cars at The Sungai Tujoh Control Post

The Ministry of Communications has taken note of issues related to Rasau Toll services which have gone viral on social media recently pertaining specifically to relocation of the Rasau toll booth to the Sungai Tujoh Control Post by 1st April 2018 and also on the issue of a B$20.00 charge on Bruneian cars leaving for Miri, Sarawak.
 
In this regard, the Ministry of Communications hereby confirms that these assumptions ARE UNTRUE and seeks cooperation from the public to stop spreading such misleading news. As contained in the Public Order Act, Chapter 148, spreading false and untrue information is an offence which carries the penalty of three years’ imprisonment or a fine of B$3,000.00 or both.
 
The Ministry of Communications hereby wishes to advise the public to not believe and spread information obtained through the internet or social media without obtaining confirmation on its reliability and accuracy. The public are therefore invited to obtain confirmation on any information related to this ministry by contacting the Senior Public Relations Officer via email address hazizah.saleh@mincom.gov.bn or by calling 2383838 during office hours or visiting the Ministry of Communications’ official website at mincom.gov.bn.
