The Ministry of Transport and
Infocommunications (MTIC) and Ministry of Education (MOE) received a
donation of 54 laptops from Brunei Methanol Company Sendirian Berhad to
support online learning for students in need.
Yang Mulia Sharidatul Maryani bte Hj Md Saidin, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Brunei Methanol Company Sendirian Berhad, presented the donation to Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications at a handover ceremony which took place at the Ministry.
The donation was handed over to Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) of Ministry of Education.
Also present during the ceremony were Ir. Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary of MTIC; Haji Hairul Mohammad Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications, Cybersecurity, Strategy and Corporate) of MTIC; Pengiran Haji Mohd Zain bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Razak, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport, Research and Development) of MTIC; Ir. Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, Acting Chief Executive of AITI as well as senior officers from MTIC, MOE and Brunei Methanol Company Sendirian Berhad.
Additionally, 41 laptops have also been received from various ministries and departments.
The donation drive to collect ICT devices to support the online learning for students in need will be open until 14th May 2020. Donations can be dropped off at Block A, IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, Jalan Muara or IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus, Kuala Belait on Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, except on public holidays. During the month of Ramadhan, donations can be delivered from from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on the same days.
