7th Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) was held on 13th – 15th November 2024 in Sakhir Air Base, Kingdom of Bahrain. Brunei Darussalam was led by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohd Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC).
The three-day showcase, was inaugurated by Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad on behalf of King Hamad, attracted over 40,000 industry professionals and visitors. Air displays including performances by the Saudi Hawks, Bahrain’s and the US Navy’s as well as static displays featured a range of aircraft.
The objectives of 7th BIAS are among others, to provide a prestige, world-class aviation event that acts as a platform for showcasing innovation and driving business opportunities for elite businesses, military, and political leaders from across the world.
Day one of the event, Yang Mulia Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) received an invitation to hold a courtesy call with H.E. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, a newly appointed Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication of Bahrain.
Yang Mulia Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) also had an opportunity to meet with Maryam Adnan Al Ansari, Undersecretary Land Transportation and Post, Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications on day 2 of the events, amongst which discussed and exchanged knowledge on public transportation within both countries, electric vehicle, renewable vehicle and the culture on public transportation in Bahrain.
