MTIC Held Nuzul Al Quran Commemoration Ceremony and Donation Presentation to Orphans for 1446H/ 2025M

The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), along with its departments and regulatory agencies, held a ceremony today to commemorate Nuzul Al-Qur’an and the presentation of donations to orphans for the year 1446H/2025M. The event, took place at Amar Pahlawan Hall, MTIC building, and was organised by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI).

Present at the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Ir. Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary; Yang Mulia Awang Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications); Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport); as well as Chief Executives, Heads of Departments, senior officers, officers and staff of the Ministry and its departments and regulatory agencies.

The ceremony began with the recitation of surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Mulia Haji Syamsul Nizam bin Haji Badar, Officer of Mosque Affairs Department Mohamad Bolkiah Mosque. This was followed by the recitation of verses from Al Baqarah, verses 267-271 by National Qariah, Yang Mulia Dayangku Siti Ummi Syazana binti Pengiran Haji Marjuki, Education Officer from Sekolah Ugama Arab Menengah Perempuan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.

The event continued with a special talk entitled “Jangan Renggangkan Hidup dengan Al-Quran” delivered by Yang Mulia Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustapa, Religious Development Officer from Pusat Da’wah Islamiah.

The event concluded with the presentation of donations to 30 orphans, consisting of family members of officers and staff from the Ministry, its departments and regulatory agencies. The donations were presented by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.

This ceremony is one of the Ministry’s annual religious activities held in remembrance of the significant event of Nuzul Al-Qur’an. It also aims to strengthen the bonds among the Ministry’s officers while fostering compassion and care for orphans among the Ministry’s community, including its departments and regulatory agencies.
