Yang Mulia Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications attended the 4th Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting
The 4th Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting was held on the 10th September 2026 which was co-chaired by Yang Mulia Ir. Mohammad Nazri Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry Transport and Infommunications and His Excellency Mr. Eui-kyung Jeong, Deputy Minister for Territorial and Urban Development of MOLIT.
The annually held meeting represents as a platform to discuss collaborative initiatives between the two ministries in Smart City Development, review implementation of ongoing joint project and plan for future cooperation under the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Smart City Development signed between the two ministries in 2025. A particular key initiative is the ongoing development of the Proof of Concept project for a Smart City Integrated Platform designed to leverage data collection, analysis and AI-based modelling to improve overall efficiency. The meeting also discussed future collaborative opportunities that expand the use cases of the Smart city Integrated Platform.
The pursuit of Smart City initiatives is expected to contribute towards improving the quality of life for the people through more efficient and responsive public service delivery. The ongoing Smart City Integrated Platform Proof of Concept project will enable relevant stakeholders to make more informed and timely decisions as well as facilitate improved data sharing and collaboration across government agencies – ultimately supporting a more coordinated and integrated approach to addressing the needs of the community.
Yang Mulia Ir. Mohammad Nazri bin Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, co-chaired the meeting and shared Brunei Darussalam’s smart city plans that are embedded in the Digital Brunei 2030 and indicate interest in further collaboration on other areas.
