1. Brunei Darussalam, through the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), has officially assumed the Chairmanship of the BIMP-EAGA ICT Infrastructure Cluster Meeting for the period of 2025-2028. The handover took place during the 12th BIMP-EAGA ICT Infrastructure Cluster Meeting (12th BE ICT), held from 12 to 15 August 2025 at the International Convention Centre, Bandar Seri Begawan. 

2. The Chairmanship was formally handed over by Ms. Cheryl Camenforte Ortega, Director Region 9 and Basulta, Department of Information and Communications Technology of the Republic of the Philippines, to Yang Mulia Dayang Mazriyani Haji Abdul Ghani, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC). The handover was witnessed by Yang Mulia Ir. Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC).

3. The 12th BE ICT was chaired by Yang Mulia Dayang Mazriyani Haji Abdul Ghani, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) and attended by delegates from Brunei Darussalam, the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Republic of the Philippines, along with representatives from the BIMP-EAGA Business Council (BEBC), BIMP-EAGA Facilitation Centre (BIMP-FC), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). 

4. In her Opening Remarks, Yang Mulia Dayang Mazriyani Haji Abdul Ghani emphasised that as digital technology becomes the new infrastructure of prosperity, the BIMP-EAGA ICT Infrastructure Cluster must ensure the subregion is not only connected, but also cyber-resilient, innovation-driven, and inclusive. She further highlighted that the digital foundations being laid today will empower future generations to innovate, trade, and thrive.

5. During its plenary session, the 12th BE ICT reviewed the progress and status of projects under the four (4) ICT Infrastructure Cluster Strategic Priorities identified in the BIMP-EAGA Vision (BEV) 2025. The meeting also discussed convergence initiatives for strengthen collaboration and cooperation with other Clusters under BIMP-EAGA.

6. The 12th BE ICT also deliberated on the upcoming BIMP-EAGA Vision (BEV) 2035 which will replace the BIMP EAGA Vision (BEV) 2025.
