Established as a collaborative whole-of-government response to the increasing spread of fake news and online scams, Waspada.bn serves as a centralised and user-friendly fact-checking platform that provides the public with access to verified and reliable information. Content published on the platform is sourced directly from official updates issued by relevant ministries and government agencies, while encouraging the public to practise digital vigilance by verifying information before sharing it online.

WTISD is celebrated annually on 17 May, commemorating the anniversary of the signing of the First International Telegraph Convention and the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). WTISD is celebrated to raise awareness of the importance of Internet usage and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in supporting the society and economy development, while promoting efforts to bridge the digital divide. This year’s theme, “Digital Lifelines: Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World”, underscores the importance of developing secure, robust, and sustainable digital infrastructure to support continuous connectivity and long-term digital resilience.
