The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), together with its departments and regulatory agencies under it, held a Korban Ceremony and Hari Raya Aidiladha Celebration for the year 1447H/2026M at Dewan Amar Pahlawan, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications Building, this morning. This event for this year was organised by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD).
Present as the Guest of Honour and to distribute the sacrificial meat were Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, together with his spouse, Yang Mulia Datin Hajah Mahayon binti Haji Mohd Taha.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by Hari Raya Takbir recitations led by Yang Mulia Imam Haji Mohamad Aduka bin Haji Abdul, Imam of the Brunei International Airport Surau. This was followed by a special religious talk entitled “The Impact of Sacrifice in Preserving Piety and Unity”, delivered by Yang Mulia Muhammad Safwan bin Mohd. Suffian, Assistant Religious Development Officer.
This year, a total of four buffaloes were sacrificed, with the sacrificial meat distributed to recipients comprising participants of the Korban rites, orphans, as well as officers and staff of the MTIC and its departments and regulatory agencies under it.
In addition, the distribution of sacrificial meat was also carried out by the BDMD through direct deliveries to the homes of identified underprivileged asnaf families within the Mukim Berakas catchment area.

Also present at the event were Yang Mulia Ir. Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC); Yang Mulia Awang Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications); Yang Mulia Dayang Mazriani binti Haji Abdul Ghani, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport); chief executives, heads of departments and divisions, as well as officers and staff of MTIC and its departments and regulatory agencies under it.
