Greetings
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and a very good morning.

• Yang Mulia Malai Sharifah Adila Surya binti Malai Hj Abdullah,
   Vice President and CEO of SMARTER Brunei
• Members of the SMARTER Brunei Community;
• Esteemed Sponsors;
• Distinguished Guests;
• Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is an honor to be here today at the launch of the Digital Education Initiative for Autistic Children. Let me first extend my heartfelt gratitude to SMARTER Brunei and its leadership for hosting us and for their continuous efforts to empower individuals with autism. Your dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment is truly commendable.

Background of the SGO Programme
I would also like to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to the NurRheiya Group. Today’s event is the result of a significant effort led by the group as part of the 31st Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers.

Group NurRheiya’s project, Embrace Differences, embodies its vision by addressing a crucial area of inclusivity and digital education. Their dedication and innovative approach have translated into this meaningful initiative, which we celebrate today. It is a reflection of how leadership and collaboration can come together to create impactful change.

Digital Economy Masterplan and Digital Society

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today’s Digital Education Initative aligns well with Brunei Darussalam’s Digital Economy Masterplan 2025. Significant progress has already been made under this Masterplan, with our flagship projects paving the way for a more interconnected and inclusive nation.

In addition, one of the Masterplan’s key pillars is the development of a Digital Society. Under this pillar several upskilling intiatives have been implemented to ensure a society where digital advancements benefit every individual.

The Digital Education Initiative for Autistic Children by the NurRheiya Group is a direct extension of these goals. By integrating digital tools tailored to the unique needs of children with autism, this initiative ensures that they too can access the benefits of technology, enabling them to thrive academically and socially. Inclusivity is not just a goal but a necessity for building a truly Smart Nation.

Collaboration of All Stakeholders
This project is a shining example of what can be achieved when different stakeholders come together with a shared vision. Group NurRheiya’s efforts were supported by SMARTER Brunei, Universiti Teknologi Brunei, the Ministry of Education, and sponsors from the private sector. This reflects the strength of the “triple-helix” collaboration, combining government support, academic expertise, and industry innovation.

However, at the heart of this initiative are the parents and teachers who will play a crucial role in its success. Parents, as the primary caregivers, ensure that digital tools are integrated into daily routines, while teachers adapt these tools to meet the unique needs of each child. Their contributions are indispensable, and their dedication deserves our utmost respect and recognition.

Sustainability of the Project

Ladies and Gentlemen.

As we reflect on today’s success, I hope to see the continuity of such meaningful projects in the future. I strongly encourage the participation of programmes such as the Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officials to take this initiative further, ensuring that it evolves into a more comprehensive effort to enhance the digitalization of education for autistic children.

In addition, I hope to see more initiatives that empower parents and teachers to become key drivers of these digitalization efforts. With their support and dedication, we can ensure that children with autism not only receive the best education but also flourish as integral members of our society.

Together, through projects like ‘Embrace Differences’, we can create a society where inclusivity is celebrated, innovation is embraced, and sustainability is secured.

Final Acknowledgements

In closing, I would like to once again express my heartfelt gratitude to Group NurRheiya for their visionary leadership and dedication to this project. My thanks also go to SMARTER Brunei for their steadfast commitment to empowering individuals with autism, as well as to the Ministry of Education, Universiti Teknologi Brunei, and our esteemed sponsors for their invaluable support.

Your contributions highlight the power of collaboration in driving meaningful change. Together, you have shown that inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability are not just ideals but achievable realities.

Conclusion

As we celebrate the launch of this initiative, let us also reflect on its broader implications. The Digital Education Initiative for Autistic Children is not just a project; it is a testament to what we can achieve when we embrace differences and work together toward a common goal.

With the kalimah Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially launch the Digital Education Initiative for Autistic Children. May this initiative inspire future collaborations and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive digital future for Brunei Darussalam.

Thank you, and may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala bless our collective efforts.

Wabillahi Taufik Walhidayah, Wassalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
