By consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Smart City Steering Committee was established in 2020 by Ministry of Development and Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications.
In realizing Brunei Darussalam’ aspiration to become a Smart Nation, Smart City Steering Committee is tasked to develop and monitor the implementation of smart city initiatives in Brunei Darussalam as well as to ensure a continuous coordination and alignment of smart city initiatives to Digital Economy Masterplan 2025.
